The “tie-locken coat” is said to be the prototype of the trench coat. It is similar in design to the wrap coat, which covers the body with a belt, but the Tylocken coat has a buckle, which makes the belt more stable and easier to put on and take off. Incidentally, the word “tie-locken” means “to fasten with a cord. It was originally a double coat with belt fastening developed by Burberry for the British army, which evolved into the trench coat. Since the front is fastened with a belt, many coats have relatively simple designs and are easy to incorporate into one’s outfits. The most famous brand is the item developed by COMOLI (COMOLI) of Japan.
