The Latest Grand Seiko Evolution 9 CollectionHand-wound Mechanical High Beat 36000 80 Hours Model 'SLGW003'
Presented from the Evolution 9 Collection was the first development in nearly 50 years Biraga model equipped with the “Caliber 9SA4,” a hand-wound mechanical movement with 10 vibrations. It is a dress watch equipped with a new generation hand-wound movement. Noteworthy features include a high frequency of 10 vibrations per second, which leads to stable accuracy, a long duration of up to 80 hours, and the pleasant feel and sound when winding the watch, which is only possible with manual winding. In addition to its high functionality as a watch, this timepiece offers the enjoyment that can only be experienced with a hand-wound watch.
If you look closely, you will notice a change in the design of the dial, which expresses the bark of a birch tree. The previous model had a design with vertical lines, but this new model has a fresh arrangement with lines running horizontally. The case is made of Grand Seiko’s original material, ” brilliant hard titanium,” which is whiter and more beautiful than ordinary titanium, and the case is as thin as 9.95 mm. Furthermore, skilled polishers polish the watch using “Zaratsu polishing*,” giving it an elegant, delicate, and graceful shine befitting a dress watch of the highest caliber in Japan.
The technique is a surface preparation technique in which a circular surface plate is rotated and the case is pressed against it to create a flat surface free of distortion.
