The two models introduced here are timepieces that carry on that illustrious tradition and pioneering spirit while meeting the expectations of today’s watch enthusiasts.

Saxony, which gave birth to numerous historic achievements—such as Germany’s first steam locomotive and the world’s first daily newspaper—became a center of industrial innovation in Germany from very early on.That spirit has been passed down to Glashütte, a small town in the Erz Mountains, where watchmakers have been breaking new ground for generations.Having begun the transition from pocket watches to wristwatches about 100 years ago, Glashütte’s watchmakers developed the region’s first modern wristwatch chronograph, “UROFA Caliber 59,” in the early 1940s.Its groundbreaking design, based on rigorous technical principles that exceeded the standards of the time, established a new category of high-precision timepieces. That pioneering spirit lives on in the newly released “Seneta Chronograph” and “Seneta Chronograph Navigator.”

Meticulous Finishing Common to Both New ModelsSkeletonized Case Back Featuring the Brand’s Iconic ‘G’ Logo
The sapphire crystal case back allows for a clear view of every detail of the exquisitely finished self-winding movement.Traditional Glashütte watchmaking techniques are incorporated throughout, including beveled edges, polished steel components, blued screws, and the distinctive 3/4 plate featuring the Glashütte ribbing finish.The movement also features a 21K gold skeleton rotor, adorned with the mirror-polished “G” logo—a symbol of Glashütte Original—arranged like a monogram.Both models are available with a choice of black or blue Louisiana alligator leather straps, sand-colored synthetic straps, or a stainless steel bracelet. All feature a quick-change system that allows for tool-free strap replacement.For the first time, this system has also been incorporated into the folding clasp, allowing the clasp to be easily swapped between different straps. These thoughtful details further accentuate the progressive character of the new chronograph.

Both new models are equipped with the self-winding in-house Caliber 37-24.Slimmer and flatter than the previous calibers in the same series, this caliber was conceived from the outset as a modern integrated chronograph movement.Despite its extremely compact dimensions—34.2 mm in diameter and 8 mm thick—it incorporates all the essential chronograph functions: a central chronograph seconds hand, a 30-minute counter, a small seconds display, and the brand’s signature Panorama Date.Furthermore, the flyback function allows the chronograph to be instantly stopped, reset, and restarted with a single push of a button, enabling smooth and intuitive measurement of elapsed time. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a power reserve of up to 70 hours.The use of a silicon balance spring ensures excellent resistance to magnetic fields and temperature changes. The combination of gold adjustment screws on the balance wheel rim and the swan-neck fine-adjustment system—a hallmark of Glashütte Original—enables the movement to be regulated with exceptional precision.

The “Seneta Chronograph Navigator,” featuring a dark-colored dial, is a model inspired by 1940s pilot’s watches.Incorporating the design of a navigation watch—which ensures intuitive operation and excellent readability even under harsh conditions—this model, like its predecessors, prioritizes ease of use and uncompromising functionality above all else.The matte black dial features Arabic numerals applied with luminescent material. The hour and minute hands feature a Super-LumiNova® finish, while the central chronograph seconds hand, 30-minute counter, and small seconds hand are finished in white lacquer, creating high contrast.The large crown, adorned with a sophisticated mirror-polished “G” logo, offers excellent operability, while the 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock positions feature classic mushroom-shaped pushers. The tachymeter scale on the inner bezel allows for the measurement of average speed.

The “Seneta Chronograph” features a 41mm stainless steel case with an exceptionally slim profile. It exudes understated elegance reminiscent of a sophisticated dress watch.The design pays homage to the historic observatory watches manufactured in Glashütte from the late 19th century to the early 20th century; these highly precise pocket watches, renowned for their durability and accuracy, were primarily used for navigation.The silver-white grained dial highlights the solid gold applied Roman numerals with a blue coating, while the blue-steel hands lend a crisp finish to the overall look.The 30-minute counter and small seconds display are arranged symmetrically, combining readability with a well-balanced design. At the 6 o’clock position is the Glashütte Original-exclusive Panorama Date, elegantly framed in white gold.
