Celebrating its 130th anniversary this year, the British royal warrant brand “Babur (Barbour)” opened a limited shop at the GINZA Stage on the 6th floor of the Ginza Mitsukoshi main building from November 13 (Wed.) to December 3 (Tue.), 2024. In addition to wax jackets, which are synonymous with the brand, this season’s lineup includes a wide range of cotton outerwear with excellent heat retention properties, such as quilted jackets and down jackets.

Wax jackets are overwhelmingly popular in Japan, but in the UK, the brand’s home country, quilted jackets are equally popular. Most of the quilted jackets worn by people on the street are from BABUR, and it is no exaggeration to say that quilted jackets = BABUR. This time, the limited store at Ginza Mitsukoshi offers a rich lineup of quilted jackets as well as wax jackets. The short length “TRANSPORT (right)” and “SPEY (left),” which are the most popular BABUA jackets right now, will also be available in quilted versions. The warm corduroy color, ring zips, and other iconic Babur design features are still present in the quilted jackets.
BABUA launches its first down jacket!
Bubur’s first down jacket is also available at this limited store. Based on two models, the standard “BEAUFORT” and the “TRANSPORT,” which was also picked up for quilting above, this lightweight, voluminous down jacket has been updated. While maintaining the BABUAR’s typical corduroy collar and ring zips, the jacket offers both comfort and warmth, making it a perfect winter piece.
