For the latest “Roadster,” Cartier’s watch manufacture aimed to redefine the proportions, refine the lines, and rethink the ergonomics—all without altering the watch’s signature form.This was achieved through a design that creates a harmonious balance between the case—in which the bezel and crown are perfectly integrated—and the rest of the watch. The interplay between the date window and the metal further accentuates the form, seamlessly unifying the crown, crystal, and dial.Furthermore, the four new rivets on the bezel further accentuate the bold design.
The dial of this watch is also iconic. It incorporates Cartier’s traditional circular guilloché pattern, a railway-style minute track, and Roman numerals.The dial of the steel model, reminiscent of a dashboard, features blue or charcoal sword-shaped hands coated with Super-LumiNova®.Other distinctions lie in the meticulous decorative techniques, such as the “appliqué” effect—which uses embossing tools to create a three-dimensional look—the burnished finish on the hour markers, and the transferred railroad-style minute track.
The “Roadster” watch, which embodies the pinnacle of Cartier’s watchmaking expertise, is powered by Cartier’s signature self-winding mechanical movement.The large model is equipped with Caliber 1847MC, while the medium model features Caliber 1899MC. The pursuit of excellence in the “Roadster” watch is also evident in the bracelet, whose design has been refined and functionality optimized by the Creation Studio.From the shorter links, which enhance comfort, to the surfaces featuring a clever combination of polished and satin finishes, every detail enhances the appeal of the metal bracelet. The bracelet can be easily swapped out using the patented “QuickSwitch” system™.
