The “One Star,” one of Converse’s most famous models, was introduced in 1968. The One Star was made of high-grade smooth leather and was the result of the best technology of the time, but production was discontinued after only two years due to difficulties in the supply of materials and the fact that it lagged behind other low-cost sneakers.
