Men’s coordinate using hats (5) “Hunting caps
Hunting caps are sometimes called “tori-uchi” hats in Japan. It was born in 19th century England, where hunting caps originated from a sport used by the upper class when they enjoyed horseback riding. Until then, caps had not been recognized as something for gentlemen to wear, and it is known as the hat that raised the cap’s status. Perhaps because of its history, the cap goes well with both suit styles and casual outfits. Incidentally, the “casket” is also considered the same type of hat overseas, but in Japan it is often treated as a separate category of hat. Hunting is an English-style hat made of one piece of cloth, while cassock is a French-style hat made of six or eight pieces of cloth and characterized by its fluffy appearance.

A stylish hunting cap coordinate that mixes different styles
We caught up with a gentleman who skillfully combined items with different roots to create a unique mix-and-match coordinate. Starting with the main item, a safari jacket, he chose items in subdued colors to create a sense of unity throughout the outfit. The light shorts and the white hunting cap also give the outfit a summery feel.
Hunting caps go great with a country-style coordinate!
When the hunting cap was born, “country style” was a fashion trend in England. The Duke of Windsor is said to have worn a tweed suit with a checkered pattern and a hunting cap when riding his horse. If you want to wear such an outfit in an up-to-date style, you should try wearing a hunting cap with a country-style outerwear as the main attraction.
Wearing a hunting cap deep in the eyes creates a masculine and rugged atmosphere.
The slim silhouette of the shirt and wide blue pants give this styling a crisp look. The black and blue color scheme creates a cohesive impression even when multiple patterns are used. The hunting cap worn deeply in the eyes gives the outfit a rugged look.
