Men’s Pants by Type [ Silhouette
Next, we introduce pants models that vary in silhouette and length!
Men’s Pants by Silhouette (1) “Slacks
Slacks, named after the American English word ” slack (loose). Originally, the word was used to refer to all casual pants with roominess, excluding work clothes and jeans. In the U.S. at the time, the term was used to refer to pants other than suits, but today it is used to refer to semi-formal pants. The same is true in Japan, where pants attached to suits and dressy pants are often called slacks. They have a beautiful silhouette that falls from the waist and gives a neat finish to an outfit. The line between “slacks” and “pants” is vague these days, so there is no specific characteristic of slacks, but many models tend to have a center crease.

Pants with a silhouette that tapers from the waist to the hem are called tapered pants. They look more like a modern silhouette than a classic silhouette, and are used in a wide variety of pants these days. Since the legs look clean and neat, these pants are ideal for highlighting sneakers or leather shoes.

Men’s Pants (3) “Jodhpurs Pants” by Silhouette
Jodhpurs pants are pants that have a crisp silhouette with plenty of room at the waist and a sharply tapered hem. Originally made for horseback riding, they are worn as formal wear by horse riders. Because they are pants for horseback riding, ease of movement is one of their appeals. Models with a more flattering silhouette than tapered pants are often referred to as jodhpurs.
