First things to keep in mind!Features and Attractiveness of Black Chino Pants
Chino pants” are popularly known throughout the world as “chinos.” This refers to a type of trousers made of a cotton or polyester (and rarely linen) fabric called ” chino-cloth.” In other words, black chinos are bottoms made of black “chino-cloth. They have an urban, rugged look that pulls together an outfit better than beige chinos, which have an earthy look, for better or worse.
Chino cloth is a fabric originally used for uniforms of the British and French armies in the mid-19th century, and nowadays it is often used not only for military wear but also for work clothes. The fabric is basically a left twill weave, and fabrics of this weave are also called twill.
Incidentally, a fabric made of twin yarns (combed yarns) in a right twill weave is called West Point, which has a stronger luster and better abrasion resistance than regular chino. This West Point was named after the Military Academy in New York State, commonly known as ” West Point,” and was actively exported after the war. Since it was used as the uniform fabric for the Army and Navy, it is commonly referred to as ” uniform twill ” in the United States.
