For men who are worried about their wedding attire! What to wear & recommended items that you won't be in a hurry when you are invited as a guest!

Every man has had the experience of worrying about ” wedding attire ” when attending a wedding as a guest. With the casualization of suit styles, the line between right and wrong has become blurred compared to a decade ago. In this issue, we will introduce the points to keep in mind, examples of preferred outfits, and recommended items that can be used for wedding attire, based on the suit style for weddings that is considered common in the modern age!

Formal suits worn at weddings vary depending on the time of day, the weight of the ceremony, and the dress code!

The origins of weddings are varied, but the one that has become common in Japan today is the one modeled after the Western bridal party. It is said that during the Meiji period (1868-1912), just after the opening of Japan to the outside world, when Western culture was rapidly flowing into the country, the wedding ceremony was imported at the same time. The culture of formal suits, which were imported at the same time as the ceremony, originated from the clothes worn by the upper class in Europe. There are three types of formal suits: ” formal,” “semi-formal,” and “informal.” The rule is to wear formal wear according to the time of day or night, the weight of the ceremony, and the dress code specified by the organizer of the ceremony. Although there are differences in the type of clothing worn depending on one’s position, the basic rule of formal suits is that all participants in the ceremony wear the same thing.

Even attire that is considered good for business may not be appropriate for a wedding!

It is not uncommon for people to find it difficult to distinguish between attire appropriate for a wedding and attire suitable for business. When I attended a wedding in my usual business attire, I was embarrassed because I stood out from the others. In order to avoid such a situation, it is important to understand what is appropriate attire for a wedding. Formal wear is positioned as the most prestigious attire, such as a tuxedo or a tailcoat. Business style is generally a little more casual than formal wear. Examples of casual downsizing include styling a suit with a sporty-looking regimental tie and loafers on the feet, which is considered a no-no in formal style.

This suit style is conservative in solid navy. Loafers are chosen for the feet to add a playful touch, which is only possible in business style.
