The nostalgic story of Laputa is expressed in every part of the watch
At the 6 o’clock position on the enamel dial, there is a flying stone emblem that Sita wears as a pendant. The crown is made of glass to reproduce the flying stone. The glass part of the back cover depicts a photograph taken by Pazuzu’s father when he discovered the castle in the sky. The metal part of the back cover is inscribed with the incantation “Rite Latvalita Urs Arialos Baru Netril” (“Save me, Light arise!” in the language of Laputa), which plays an important role in the story and condenses the worldview of the work. The combination of Roman numeral indexes reminiscent of a clock tower, soft dial colors, and retro-looking ” spectacle hands ” expresses a nostalgic mood.

The thick cordovan strap with stitching further accentuates the nostalgic atmosphere, and the back of the strap is decorated with the pattern of a stone monument in Laputa. The dual-curved sapphire glass with internal anti-reflective coating provides excellent legibility with minimal distortion from any angle. The movement installed in the watch is the new ” 6R31 caliber. While maintaining the specifications of the 6R35 caliber, Seiko’s high-performance mechanical movement, the calendar function has been eliminated and the dial has been simplified to further enhance the nostalgic Laputa worldview. With a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, the watch is highly practical and can be used on the following Monday without being worn on the weekend.

The special box with a foil-stamped representation of Castle in the Sky comes with a card with a message from director Hayao Miyazaki that reads, “Let’s live our lives without being bound by time.
