Seiko Presage’s Watches Embody the World of Laputa: Castle in the Sky under the Concept of “Inheritance of Thoughts
‘ “Laputa: Castle in the Sky” is an animated epic by Studio Ghibli that was released in 1986. Inheriting his father’s dream, Pazoo and Sita set out for Laputa, the castle in the sky, in this epic fantasy adventure film. On the other hand, “Seiko Presage” is a watch brand that fuses tradition and technology, inheriting Seiko’s more than 100 years of watchmaking history and know-how. The concept of this collaboration between the two watch brands is “inheritance of feelings. Inspired by the depiction of a work of art, it expresses the appearance of a tool that is loved over time.

The enameled dial was supervised by enamel craftsman Mitsuru Yokozawa. In addition, the heavy cordovan strap, the specially tailored crown that allows you to feel the winding of the mainspring with your fingers, and each part nostalgically evokes the dreams, longings, and precious experiences you had in your boyhood.
