The Citizen’s new limited edition watch is a fantastic piece that expresses the sea at night with Japanese paper
This limited edition watch from THE CITIZEN incorporates the spirit of Japanese culture with a face made of “Tosa Tengu-Jo,” which is said to be the thinnest Japanese paper in the world. Based on washi paper, which has been used since ancient times to let light into a room, the watch features a jet-black washi dial layered with delicate lamé, a ring on the back with a ray of gold, and a second hand. The combination of luminescent indexes and hour and minute hands, which glow blue in the dark, expresses the nighttime sea reflecting shining stars and illuminated by the lights of towns and lighthouses on the opposite shore, symbols of people’s lives, as well as luminous creatures in the sea, such as noctilucent insects.
The scene is like the sea at night. The unique texture of Tosa Washi paper, created from natural materials and craftsmanship, creates a fantastic model that evokes the shimmering surface of the sea. When the backlight is turned on in the dark, you can enjoy the neon-like scene floating on the sea at night, making it a truly fantastic watch. This model is limited to 400 pieces and comes in a limited edition box with a serial number engraved on the back cover.
