Fabric strap woven with traditional Japanese techniques
The fabric strap used in this project is woven using a traditional Japanese technique called “seichu,” which is also used for kimono obi cords. By using this technique, a fabric strap that meets Seiko’s high performance standards, which have contributed to the establishment of JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) diver’s watch standards, was realized.
(1) Durability
The fabric strap has excellent tensile strength that does not break even under heavy loads and high light resistance against degradation caused by ultraviolet rays, enabling it to withstand prolonged use in tough operating environments.
(2) Comfort
By weaving it into a bag shape, which is different from ordinary woven cord, there are no breaks on the end surface, making it tailored to feel good against the skin. It is also supple, breathable, and always comfortable to the touch.
(3) Aesthetics
The yarn is woven diagonally, creating a unique shade depending on how the light hits it. While giving a casual impression, it has a warm and elegant finish, creating a rich expression.
It is not only durable but also comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, and can be used in a wide range of situations from diving to urban life. It also comes with a strap in a different color that can be replaced without the need for tools. Enjoy it according to your mood or style of the day.
