What is the ” Monster Parka ” PCU outerwear developed for the US Special Forces?
The Monster Hoodie is a military-derived outerwear. The U.S. military has a protective clothing system called ” ECWCS (ECWCS)” or “PCU (PCU)” ECWCS stands for Extended Cold Weather Clothing System. It is a layering system that enables activities in extremely cold weather by layering from the thinnest level 1 to the thickest level 7. ECWCS hoodies and ECWCS fleeces, which are commonly worn on the streets and outdoors, are part of this layering system. While ECWCS is for general forces, PCU (Protective Combat Uniform) is a layering system supplied only to special forces. The Monster Hoodie is a level 7 PCU, and is the top layer of the layering system. Naturally, if you wear it around town, you don’t need to put as much clothing on as the Special Forces, and you can get enough warmth by wearing it over a thin inner layer. Monster parkas are normally too large for petite Japanese, but those sold to the general public feature a somewhat adjusted size and silhouette. Even so, they are larger than ordinary down jackets, and their big silhouettes match the modern trend.
