Unveiling the 10th Anniversary Collaboration Watch with G-SHOCK
At a special booth at the event, G-SHOCK’s 10th anniversary Collaboration watches were sold in advance. The 300 watches sold out in the blink of an eye. This watch is the first item in a project that invites Mr. Motoshi “Poggy” Ogi, a fashion curator with ties to MR. The first item in the project, which will be the 10th collaboration with various brands. The first item in the project, which will be the 10th in the series, will be a watch that will be worn by artists who will perform with the watch.
The collaboration watch is based on G-SHOCK’s standard 5600 series. The watch features a pinstriping design by artist KAZ (BASTARDS), who is a close friend of MR.
At Mr. Poggy’s suggestion, the packaging is identical to the design of MR.BROTHERS’ hair product brand BROSH’s gel, with a graphic sampling a 50’s car wheel and the words “SUPER HARD & TOUGH” and “G-SHOCK,” which are common elements of gel and G-SHOCK, inside. The message “SUPER HARD & TOUGH” is written in the graphic, which was sampled from a 50’s car wheel, and is a common theme between the gel and G-SHOCK.
When the LED backlight is turned on, the “Brothers Haircut Club” motif that symbolizes MR. A special “MR. BROTHERS 10TH ANNIVERSARY” graphic is engraved on the back of the watch.
“MR.BROTHERS CUT CLUB x G-SHOCK DW-5600X” is available at all MR. BROTHERS CUT CLUB stores and the Kuzuya online store. Online sales have already sold out as of May 12 (Mon.), and in-store sales will begin on May 14 (Wed.) in limited quantities. The price is 16,500 yen (tax included).
