How to fold a T-shirt (4) Military rolls are also useful for packing!
This military roll is useful for packing for travel. This method was originally developed by the military and rangers to store clothes as compactly as possible. Rolled T-shirts stand on their own even when placed vertically, making them ideal for “standing up” storage, an ironclad rule of storage. The key is to roll the T-shirt slightly loosely, as rolling it too tightly may cause the fabric to stretch.
First, turn the hem of the T-shirt inside out.
First, turn the hem of the T-shirt that has been laid flat inside out. This is necessary for the last step, so do not forget to do this.
Fold the left and right sides of the body the same way you would fold a basic T-shirt.
Once the hem is turned over, fold the left and right sides inward as in the basic T-shirt folding method.
Roll up the T-shirt from the collar to the hem.
After folding the left and right sides of the body, roll the T-shirt from the collar to the hem. At this point, moderate force should be used, as too tight a roll may stretch the fabric of the T-shirt.
When you are done rolling it up, turn the first part inside out and wrap the whole thing up!
When the T-shirt has been rolled up to the hem, it is time to turn the T-shirt inside out. Turn it over and wrap the whole thing.
The military roll is complete!
