A simple model “AIR JORDAN 9” with an international story packed into the outsole

The ” AIR JORDAN 9 ” appeared in the same year that the Air Jordan 8 was released. Since the model was released after Michael Jordan retired, it is said that AJ was never worn by Michael Jordan on the basketball court. The Air Jordan 9 features a simple look and an outsole packed with international stories. In contrast to the Air Jordan 8, which is packed with various features, the upper of this model consists of a simple part formation. The Quick Shoe Lace System, which allows for quick lacing, is used for the first time, and the upper’s Harachi system is made of a thinner material and replaced with a double-layer mesh construction, eliminating the steaminess that was a problem in previous models.

The outsole packed with an international story is an idea that Tinker Hatfield, who has been in charge of the design of the previous model, came up with in his search to create a new, evolved Air Jordan. By giving the Air Jordan a storyline, he evolved to the point where the pattern was redesigned while fulfilling the technical needs of the outsole. Mark Smith was the central figure in bringing the sole design to fruition. By mixing the unique graphics he specializes in with the languages of other countries and incorporating them into the design, he was able to create an outsole that tells a story. The outsole is said to represent “the game,” “winning,” and “the attitude toward basketball.” By using different languages on the left and right sides of the sole, the sole design is not reversed, but rather is independent of the left and right sides of the sole.

Incidentally, after his retirement, Michael Jordan attended the Chicago White Sox MLB camp in 1994 in order to become a major leaguer, which was his father’s goal. Only 45 pairs were sold worldwide in a limited edition, named after the number 45 on his back at the time.
