KRONABY," a connected watch that combines minimalist design and cutting-edge technology, has landed in Japan.

KRONABY, a connected watch brand from Malmö, Sweden, made its full-scale arrival in Japan in July 2017. The collection is a collection of watches with extremely beautiful minimalist design and cutting-edge smart functions.

A new smart watch brand that boasts popularity mainly in Europe and the U.S. has landed in Japan!

KRONABY was founded in Sweden as a brand dedicated to connected watches, and made its spectacular debut in March 2017 at Baselworld 2017 in Basel, Switzerland. Overseas, the brand began rolling out in the Scandinavian Peninsula in April 2017 and is already available in 400 stores, including in Europe and the United States. In Japan, the brand made its debut at “DESIGN TOKYO” held at Tokyo Big Sight from July 5, and will be available for pre-sale at major watch specialty stores TiCTAC major cities from July 20. Full-scale deployment is scheduled for August.

Smart functions added to the beauty of a quartz watch

The KRONABY was born out of a feeling of being constrained by the current situation of being tied to checking messages on a smartphone until just before going to sleep, and because of this, it is not a display-type smartwatch, but a hybrid type that adds smart functions to a quartz watch. ” While the watch looks 100% “quartz,” it has all the features to make your lifestyle easier, such as a remote shutter for your camera, receiving various notifications, and music control. Another advantage of the Cronaby is that it runs for about two years on a standard battery, unlike smartwatches that need to be recharged daily.

Combining classical design with cutting-edge engineering technology

While KRONABY is a cutting-edge connected watch, it is also a complete wristwatch. The design team includes former Longines designers, and the watch has a Scandinavian yet classical appeal, with materials such as 316L stainless steel and sapphire crystal used like those used in high-end watches. In addition, the movement, application, and cloud service are all developed in-house. This allows the watch to be updated with new functions when the application is updated. The application is updated every three months. The more you use the watch, the more you benefit from its innovative functions, without the worry that the hardware will not keep up with the evolution of the software, which is typical of IT devices.

Four collections that condense the Scandinavian brand’s commitment to excellence

The collection presented as of July 2017 includes four series: “APEX,” “SEKEL,” “NORD,” and “CARAT.” APEX,” with its black dial and sub-dials, is a sports model with a large 43mm case that displays a masculine appearance.

SEKEL,” meaning “century,” is a series that pays homage to traditional watchmaking. The appeal of this series is its classic design that evokes ancient craftsmanship. The series includes a model with blue-plated hands and a model with a sub-dial.

The “NORD” series is characterized by a simple design with minimal ornamentation. This series expresses “purity” and “harmony,” and is the most Scandinavian of the brand’s creations.

The “CARAT” watches boast the beauty of precision-polished jewels, with their gleaming PVD-coated cases and belts, and their carefully brushed dials. This model can be used in a wide range of situations, from business to daily use.

From sporty to dressy, the lineup is sure to satisfy watch fans. Prices vary depending on the model and strap, but range from 38,000 yen to 70,000 yen.
