Campaign Movie Featuring Popular Rappers Bose and BIM Released

Nearly half a century after the birth of OLD SKOOL, a new story unfolds with Bose and BIM, two leading figures in the Japanese hip-hop scene. Bose, MC of Schadaraparr, who has been active in Japanese hip-hop since its early days, and BIM, the core member of CreativeDrugStore, which released its first album at the end of last year and is active beyond its boundaries, including collaborations with various artists, are featured. The campaign creatives are a must-see, capturing moments that can only be glimpsed because of their mutual respect for each other as senior and junior members of the team. The following are comments from the two artists on the ” OLD MEETS KNU ” campaign.

Comment from Bose

Bose, a schadarabber, appears in the campaign visuals wearing KNU SKOOL. I’m basically positive about everything, and I think it’s all great. People who were kids in the 90s, when we started our activities, were of a generation that took it for granted that rap music existed in Japan from the beginning, so they chose to rap without any sense of unease. I think it’s great that the viewers also feel that it’s normal to see rap music in Japan, so they don’t feel uncomfortable when they see it on TV.”

Comment from BIM

BIM of CreativeDrugStore, who was featured in this campaign visual along with Bose, wears OLD SKOOL. The more I work, the more I realize that not all of us can become stars like our seniors, and not all of us can make hit tunes. The other day, I saw Schadaraparr’s live performance from the audience, and Bose’s power when he turned on his switch was amazing. I thought to myself, “It’s going to be a thorny road to get to that person. I really admire him.”
