MIHARA YASUHIRO and GU collaborate for the first time to release 33 items under the concept of "Good Inspiration

GU and MIHARA YASUHIRO have announced their first collaboration collection, based on the concept of Good Inspiration. 33 items in total will be available at g.u. stores nationwide and at the official g.u. online store from March 5, 2021. A special booth is currently being set up at GU STYLE STUDIO Harajuku to display the entire lineup of this collection in advance. The g.u. Shibuya and Shinsaibashi stores will also have show window displays for a limited time, so be sure to check them out.

The concept of the collaboration collection is “Good Inspiration”, GU’s classic products are reproduced with MIHARA YASUHIRO’s world view!

Since its establishment by designer Yasuhiro Mihara in 1996, the g.u. brand and YASUHIRO MIHARA, which boasts strong international popularity, have collaborated for the first time to present a new collection. This collaboration, based on the concept of “Good Inspiration,” is the result of the collaboration between Mihara Yasuhiro, who continues to deliver clothes that are free from conventional boundaries and stoic but playful, and g.u., which wants all users to enjoy fashion freely. g.u.’s desire for all users to enjoy fashion freely. The remake-like, asymmetric designs that are typical of Mihara Yasuhiro and his worldview where mode and humor coexist are incorporated into g.u.’s popular staple items, creating a finish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

This collection also includes a wide range of outerwear, tops, shoes, and accessories, with a total of 33 types of items. The lineup includes a total of 33 models, including the g.u.’s popular classic items such as chef pants, chef jackets, high-function mountain parkas, and bucket hats that will come in handy in the coming season, as well as sneakers that are synonymous with Mihara Yasuhiro.

And designer Yasuhiro Mihara said, “In the summer of 2020, when I designed this collection, the world was by no means a bright situation. But for some reason, I remembered myself in my twenties when I was an art student. Those were the days when I was selfless, trusting my dreams and future to my talent and trying to overcome my insecurities by creating artwork. I am now grateful for those days.” He said, “I am thankful for those days,” and he has packed this collection with his desire to brighten the world with his creativity.
