Piaget introduces the world's thinnest watch, the " Altiplano Ultimate Automatic

Piaget introduces the ” Altiplano Ultimate Automatic “, which is just 4.30 mm thin. As a masterpiece that brings together more than 60 years of mastery in the field of ultra-thin watchmaking, the result is the embodiment of the pinnacle of contemporary elegance.

Piaget has been pursuing thin movements since its foundation

Piaget’s expertise in the creation of ultra-thin timepieces is the result of a long history of expertise. In 1957, Piaget took the market by storm with the launch of the ” 9P “, the world’s thinnest hand-wound movement at the time, at just 2 mm thick, at the Basel Fair. In 1960, the company introduced the “12P,” the world’s thinnest self-winding movement at 2.3 mm thick, establishing its reputation in the ultra-thin watch segment.

Fusion of thin movement development technology and beautiful design

If the ultra-thin watch is one of the two wheels of Piaget’s DNA, the other is the decorative beauty of gold and platinum. The meticulous handcrafting of Piaget watches, including perlage finishing, circular-pattern Côtes de Genève decorations, and polished finishes, has attracted celebrities such as Alain Delon. In 2014, the brand’s 140th anniversary year, Piaget launched the “Altiplano” equipped with the hand-wound “900P” caliber, named in homage to the legendary “9P” caliber.

The birth of the new world record ” Altiplano ” Ultimate Automatic

The “Altiplano” is the product of the combined expertise of Piaget’s two Manufactures. La Côte aux Fees, where the movement is developed, and Plan-les-Ouates, where the watch exterior is designed and engineered, have combined their visions to create an unprecedentedly thin watch. And in 2018, Piaget presents the ” Altiplano ” Ultimate Automatic. In a world where records are broken by a mere 1/10th of a millimeter, this watch with a thickness of only 4.30 mm sets a new world record for thinnest watch.
