The collaborative item for this release, “IVALO,” is a hiking boot that combines Tarvas’s functional craftsmanship with Attachment’s refined minimalism. Designed with functionality as the starting point, it delivers the necessary performance while featuring a silhouette that does not overly emphasize technical elements.It is also characterized by a design built to last and a minimalist aesthetic that leaves room for interpretation. The model name “IVALO” evokes the natural environment of Lapland in northern Finland.Through a collaborative workshop, these two brands—each with distinct backgrounds—exchanged their aesthetic sensibilities, achieving a balance between functionality that bridges the urban and natural worlds and a quiet, understated presence.

Display Fixtures Born from a WorkshopA Custom Display Combining Oak and Stainless Steel, Designed by Attachment’s Mitsuki Enomoto

In this workshop, in addition to hiking boots, display fixtures for retail stores were also created.The design was created by Koki Enomoto, a designer at Attachment. The materials used were oak harvested from the area around Mt. Asahidake in Hokkaido and stainless steel. The structure seamlessly integrates the organic texture of the wood—symbolic of Tarvas—with the inorganic feel of stainless steel, which embodies Attachment’s design philosophy.

The wood highlights natural elements such as grain and growth rings, while the stainless steel provides a sharp, contrasting surface. The structure features a central stainless steel sheet on which shoes are arranged as objects, creating a minimalist display that accentuates the presence of each material and the surrounding negative space.The philosophy behind both brands’ craftsmanship is expressed not only in the products themselves but also in the exhibition space.

“IVALO” comes with an original bag designed for carrying shoes.It features a roll-top design commonly used in outdoor bags, allowing the opening to be adjusted according to the amount of items stored. Designed not only as a shoe bag but also as a utility bag for storing small items while traveling, this item is unique to this collaboration, which views “what you wear” and “what you carry” as a single product.
