The Charm of Seneta Meissen 1A dial that can truly be called a work of art, created through repeated firing and hand-painting
Each Seneta Meissen watch can be described as a small work of art.The 40mm red gold case houses a hand-painted dial with minimalist hour and minute markings.The beauty of this watch is expressed through two techniques: the movement is designed to be ultra-thin, creating an exceptionally slim profile, while the decoration is accentuated by two gently curved red gold hands.The dial is crafted from an ultra-thin porcelain disc, which is first fired at 1,400°C and then meticulously inspected to ensure high quality and perfect surface flatness. Afterward, decorations, numerals, and Roman indices are painstakingly applied by hand in multiple layers using a fine brush.To achieve a deep color, each layer is fired in a kiln at 900°C.

The newly released Seneta Meissen comes in three dial designs.The first, limited to 150 pieces, features the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory’s artistic “Mystic Maison” design rendered in delicate gray on a white background.The second, also limited to 150 pieces, features the same decoration, but its color scheme evokes the origins of porcelain art, with the “Mystic Maison” rocaille pattern set against a celadon green background.This color name is derived from ceramics produced in China during the 9th century that were coated with a transparent green “celadon” glaze (a glassy layer covering the surface of ceramics, also known as “surface glaze”).The third piece is characterized by a decorative collage incorporating motifs symbolic of Meissen’s “Dekorwelten” crater vases and is available in a limited edition of just eight pieces. Vibrant, rainbow-colored animals and flowers are depicted against a celadon green background, weaving together an enchanting, fairy-tale-like scene.

Ticking away beneath the Meissen porcelain dial is Caliber 36, an in-house movement that embodies the pinnacle of Glashütte watchmaking craftsmanship. Combining intricate mechanics with modern usability, it features a bidirectional automatic winding mechanism and a 100-hour power reserve.The silicon hairspring is resistant to magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations, and the seconds-stopping mechanism allows for precise time setting by pulling out the crown. Through the sapphire crystal case back, you can fully appreciate how the meticulous finishing of the movement creates a stunning contrast with the artistic beauty of the Meissen porcelain,as well as the refined ribbed finish of the Glashütte 3/4 plate, the hand-engraved balance cock, and the sunburst finish on the hand-wound chain.The skeletonized rotor, featuring the Glashütte Original double-G logo, is crafted from 21K gold and features meticulous hand-finished details down to the finest elements, including beveled and polished edges, polished steel components, and small blue-steel screws.
