Philip Morris Japan has announced the latest IQOS ILUMA i series, which will be available starting Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

The IQOS ILUMA i Series, now available in Japan, includes three models: the IQOS ILUMA i Prime, the IQOS ILUMA i, and the IQOS ILUMA i ONE. The “IQOS ILUMA i PRIME” and “IQOS ILUMA i” are equipped with a touch screen, which was not available in the previous models, allowing users to check necessary information at a glance. In addition, a new pause mode function allows users to pause the device for up to 8 minutes during use.

All three models in the series are equipped with the Flex Puff function*, enabling use according to the user’s pace of use. The ” IQOS ILUMA i ONE ” now features an auto-start function, eliminating the need to press a button before use. Both models are equipped with the Smart Core Induction SystemⓇ, which heats tobacco leaves from the inside without burning them.

“IQOS ILUMA i” and “IQOS ILUMA i Prime” feature the first touch screen in the IQOS series. The futuristic design has been updated by eliminating buttons. On the screen, users can view information about the device, such as heating status (heating in progress, heating complete), remaining usage time, and number of cigarettes remaining to be used.

The evolutionary point that the OTOKOMAE editors who actually experienced the “IQOS ILUMA i” series firsthand liked the most was the “Pause Mode*” that allows users to take a “break” for up to 8 minutes during use. If a courier arrives shortly after you start using the device, or if circumstances force you to take your hand off the device, you have no choice but to give up the stick in use, but this “pause mode” is a new and exciting feature that reduces such waste.
*Only during the performance mode setting, it is possible to pause the device for the first 3 minutes or before it reaches 8 puffs. When paused, up to two sticks can be used continuously, including the stick on which the pause was made. Of those, the pause mode can only be used once.
IQOS ILUMA i
The default number of puffs for the “IQOS ILUMA i” series is 14 (puffs), but depending on the individual’s usage pattern, the system can add an additional 4 puffs. However, depending on individual usage patterns, four additional puffs may be added by system control. The four additional puffs can be used within six minutes from the start, as in the default setting. The FlexPuff function is available on all models, including the ” IQOS ILUMA i ONE “.
It cannot be initiated by you and may not be activated every time you use it. It will not be activated when using the pause mode. Loss of the flex puff function does not affect the function of the product itself (not covered by warranty).
IQOS ILUMA iFlex Battery
The “IQOS ILUMA i” and “IQOS ILUMA i Prime” can use the IQOS App to change the holder’s The battery settings can be changed using the IQOS App. By switching between the default settings of “Performance Mode” and “Eco Mode,” the number of continuous uses can be limited.
