G-SHOCK, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary in April 2023, has released the “Adventurer’s Stone” series as an anniversary model, featuring an ore motif. All six models will go on sale on January 14, 2023 (Saturday).

Since the birth of the first G-Shock model, the DW-5000C, G-Shock has continued to evolve not only in shock resistance but also in function and design. 40th anniversary model Adventurer’s Stone is inspired by the ore used by adventurers on voyages in the Middle Ages as a compass. The design was inspired by the concept of the G-SHOCK brand, which has always inspired those who take on new challenges based on its concept of continuous innovation, and the ore that was like a companion for adventurers. The metal bezels of all five models, except the GM-S5640GEM, are forge-molded and uneven to express the rough texture of ore. The uneven surfaces are polished with a precision honing process, while the top and sides have a hairline or mirror finish to create a crystal-like beauty. Each model features a different type of ore as a motif, and the bezel is also characterized by a variety of color IP applied to the bezel so that it shines differently depending on the light and cross-section of the watch. The band is a simple design that accentuates the bezel. The back of the watch is decorated with the anniversary logo, and the four stars representing the 40th anniversary and the words “SINCE 1983” are engraved on the band.
G-SHOCK Adventurer’s Stone ” GM-5640GEM
Based on the “GM-5600” model, which inherits the square form of the first model, the motif of the “Sunstone,” an ore said to bring victory, is adopted. The entire bezel has been treated with rainbow IP surface treatment, and by layering black IP on top of the sparse masking, a variety of different luminances are expressed depending on the angle of view.

G-SHOCK Adventurer’s Stone “GM-114GEM
The “GM-114GEM,” based on the GM-110 with its large case and three-dimensional dial design, uses calcite, a stone with various tints that is said to lead to success, as its motif. The entire bezel is coated with gold IP, and the 5 and 10 o’clock sides are covered with masking, followed by a layer of black IP, creating a beautiful two-color combination. The band is made of black resin with unevenness, inspired by calcite gemstones.

G-SHOCK Adventurer’s Stone “GM-2140GEM
Based on the popular GM-2100 with its octagonal bezel and simple design, which was also used on the first model, the “GM-2140GEM” is inspired by “cordierite,” a stone said to show the way. The beautiful blue color of cordierite is reproduced with a blue IP-applied metal bezel and a Galal molded band made of a mix of two colors of resin.

Based on the GM-S5600, a smaller version of the GM-5600, the GM-S5640GEM uses transparent “calcite” as its motif. The bezel is laser-engraved and rainbow IP overlaid on the bezel, inspired by the crystalline pattern and the brilliance caused by the refraction of light. The band and dial are also decorated with the same pattern.

The GM-S114GEM is based on the GM-S110, which uses purple “calcite” as its motif. The entire surface of the metal bezel is coated with purple IP, and only the 2 and 7 o’clock sides are covered with masking and gray IP to express the beautiful purple color of calcite.
