G-Shock introduces three Nishikigoi motif models!

CASIO has introduced the new “G-SHOCK NISHIKIGOI” featuring Nishikigoi, which are popular overseas as well.

G-SHOCK’s new motif is Nishikigoi, “living jewels and swimming works of art

Nishikigoi, which swim gracefully in ponds in Japanese gardens, are also called living jewels and swimming works of art, and are very popular overseas as well. The new collection of G-Shock watches that use Nishikigoi as a motif includes the original three-eyed model “DW-6900,” the digital/analog combination model “GA-100,” the standard square model “DW-6900,” and the “NISHIKOI” model. The DW-6900JK is the original three-eyed model, the GA-100 is a combination digital/analog model, and the DW-5600 is a standard square model.

The “DW-6900JK” is inspired by the “Kohaku” color of Nishikigoi.

The DW-6900JK is based on the image of the “Kohaku” carp, which has a white body with scarlet spots all over. The white body of the DW-6900JK is decorated with a red pattern, and the face is similarly white with a red pattern, creating a red and white design throughout the watch. The red and white coloring, which is familiar to Japanese people, is a very appealing design.

If we look at the body design alone, we can say that this model is the simplest. The backlight of this model also shows a Nishikigoi pattern in conjunction with the face design.

All three models have an illustration of Nishikigoi as a point of reference on the ring, and the entire watch, including the details, expresses Nishikigoi.

The packaging and the accompanying card, which incorporate the Nishikigoi design, were designed by BlackEyePatch, a Tokyo-based label that uses a variety of techniques, from graffiti to apparel. The G-Shock is manufactured in Japan, and its various gimmicks bring Japanese culture to the forefront.
