Using carefully selected Himeji leather, the new model of suede produced in Japan by craftsmanship
More than 50 years after its introduction, PUMA’s classic sneaker “SUEDE” continues to be loved around the world. The theme of this new made-in-Japan model is “American and European vintage as seen from Japan. The purple and yellow model is inspired by the American pop culture of the 80s. From athletes to breakdancers to skateboarders, PUMA suede was becoming popular in all cultural scenes at that time. The blue and yellow reproduce the vintage European colors that were used on the popular “Delphin” and “Fast Rider” models from the 1970s and 1980s. The shoe also features the “Puma with eyes” cat logo seen on sneakers from the 70’s and 80’s.
Furthermore, this made-in-Japan model, the highest peak of suede, uses “Himeji leather” produced in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, a famous leather production area in Japan. It is produced by a rare Japanese tannery specializing in suede using traditional methods that have been handed down from generation to generation, and the craftsmanship shines through.
