Iconic coloring of the 991 pays homage to the 577, the first collaboration
The first collaboration model between Stockholm-based SNS and New Balance was the 577 from the ” Round 1 ” collection released in 2005. At the time, SNS founders Eric Fergalind and Peter Jonsson visited the New Balance factory in Flimby, England, and in just 10 minutes, the first collaboration had been realized. The sneakers, limited to 96 pairs in each color, sold out as soon as they were released. This new collaboration commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Flimby factory and reproduces the iconic coloring of the 577 in the popular 991 series. Eric designed two colorways of the sneaker in yellow-blue-white and Peter in dark navy-white-gray, both finished in the 577’s colorway.
This SNS exclusive Flimby 991 model features premium leather and pigskin suede overlays. The midsole features ABZORB, a shock-absorbing and resilient cushioning material.

To celebrate the collaboration, SNS also released a campaign video titled ” Things to do in Flimby in 10 minutes. The video uniquely introduces the history and activities of the town, which has various attractions in addition to producing the iconic New Balance sneakers.
In addition, SNS CAFÉ TOKYO will offer a special menu celebrating the launch of the collaborative sneakers for two days only on February 26 (Sat) and 27 (Sun). The limited menu features a special dish of fish & chips, a typical British dish, served with the restaurant’s original herbed butter mayonnaise and samurai sauce.
