New balance released the “2002R” in 2020 and it quickly became a popular model, and now, for the first time this year, new colors are available. Available in a total of five colors, it will go on sale sequentially at the official online store and some limited stores from February 18 (Fri.).

The original “2002” was created in 2010 and is known as the flagship “Made in U.S.A.” model. Inspired by the original, the “2002R” is a new number reissued in 2020 as an Asian-made model. The most distinctive features of the new model are its high-spec sole, which boasts high shock absorption and resilience, and an upper that achieves the original’s characteristic hefty feel. The “N ERGY” and “ABZORB” technologies of New Balance, which excel in shock absorption and resilience, have been adopted to further improve the comfort and fit of the shoe. This is the same specification as the “M860” running shoe, which was also approved by an authoritative American professional magazine.
The first new color of this year for the “2002R,” which has been highly popular since its release, is the innovative “beige/purple,” a beige base color with a color accent. This will be followed by “Wine Red,” “Green,” “Navy,” and “Black Fig,” all of which feature a mix of suede and mesh uppers finished in tonal colors.
