What is concealer?
Concealer is a cosmetic item used to cover up skin problems. In layman’s terms, it is like a topical foundation. It is intended to hide skin problems that are difficult to cover with foundation alone, such as acne, acne scars, blemishes, dark circles, and blue beards. Compared to foundation, it has a very strong covering power, and using it on the entire skin tends to make it look thicker, so it is standard practice to use it only on the points you want to conceal. Although the level of adhesion is improved if a makeup base is applied, it is OK to use concealer alone without any other base makeup, so it should be easy for men to use as their first makeup.
How to use concealer! When to put it on?
The basic base makeup procedure is sunscreen, makeup base, foundation, concealer, and face powder, in that order. If powder foundation is used, the order is switched with concealer. However, there are probably few men who wear makeup this perfectly. Basically, concealer is considered to be the last step of base makeup, and should be incorporated at the end of usual care, such as right after skin care or after sunscreen.

Types of Concealers (1) “Stick Type
The stick type, which can be applied to the skin without getting hands dirty, is perfect for men’s makeup as it does not require any tricks. It has a slightly hard texture and high holding power, and is recommended for uneven pimples, acne scars, and areas where blue whiskers are noticeable. Moisturizing power is inferior, so be sure to take care of your skin beforehand.
Type of concealer (2) “Liquid type
Concealer in a silky liquid form. Because it is stretchable even with a small amount, this item is suitable for covering a wide range of areas such as dark circles, freckles, and pores. The lightweight texture of the liquid concealer does not feel like you are wearing makeup.
Concealer type 3: “Cream type
Cream type concealers have a texture somewhere between stick and liquid, and provide both coverage and good spreadability. Many products have high moisturizing power, so they are suitable for men with dry skin and for use in winter. It requires a little technique to apply, but it is convenient to have a bottle for any skin problems. Try it when you are used to wearing makeup.

Type of concealer (4) “Pencil type
Thinner than any concealer, the pencil type is suitable for covering small spots, freckles, and other fine areas. Many concealers are shaped like a pencil and are actually sharpened before use. Demand for this type has been decreasing in recent years due to the hassle of sharpening, but many professional makeup artists are fond of using it because of its small size and versatility. Because of its low oil content, it is also recommended for men who easily produce sebum and are prone to shine.
