What are the six reasons why Church's " GRAFTON " is popular as a wingtip with a different external shuttlecock?

Reason #4 for the popularity of Church’s “Grafton”: “Functionality and decorativeness through numerous craftsmanship

All-around Goodyear welt construction that creates a rugged atmosphere

The Goodyear welt method is one of the most famous methods used in British shoes. Church is naturally good at this method, but Grafton uses the all-around Goodyear welt method (360° Goodyear welt method). The all-around Goodyear welt is sewn around the foot from toe to toe, creating a rugged atmosphere that is comparable to that of country shoes. The protruding tongue is a truly Church-like detail. Despite the rugged atmosphere, the narrow toe and smart face of the last 173 make it possible to match with both town shoes and suits in a wide range of acceptable styles.

Storm welt around the copa

The welt is stitched in an L-shape, a design known as a storm welt. This is a traditional country shoe detail that prevents rain and other elements from entering through the gap between the upper and sole. Polished binder calf or grain leather is used for the upper material, and the storm welt is used to protect the outer circumference of the shoe, making it more resistant to water.

Distinctively shaped heel

The outstitching around the heel inevitably results in a large heel lift. In a dress-oriented shoe, the heel lift should be as small as possible to make the shoe look elegant, but Grafton’s heel is also finished in a rugged country style. Contrary to this, the cuff of the upper material is shallower fitting than that of normal dress shoe models such as consoles. The sole therefore occupies a considerable size in this distinctive construction.

Double sole about 1cm thick

The double sole is also a specification typical of country shoes. The thicker sole is more resistant to water penetration, and even if it is a leather sole, it will not sag unless you walk in pouring rain. Although they are stiffer than single soles at first, the foot sinks into the cork more than single soles as they are worn in.
