Shoe specialists from Japan and the U.K. gather at BRITISH MADE Ginza Store for a talk show!

BRITISH MADE Ginza Store, which delivers “Lifestyle with a British story”, is celebrating its first anniversary by inviting three specialists to a talk live on the themes of “The charm of British shoes” and “Shoes necessary for businessmen”. The store will hold a talk show on the theme of “The Charm of British Shoes” and “Shoes for Businessmen” with three invited specialists.

Talk Live by Three Leading Japanese and British Shoe Specialists

Three specialists on shoes, Mr. Yukihiro Sugawara, Mr. Takahiro Iino, and Mr. William Church, will be invited to talk about “The Appeal of British Shoes” and “Shoes that Businessmen Should Choose. The main theme of the event will be “Shoes for Businessmen to Choose,” and talk sessions will be held on practical topics such as recommended business shoes for different generations and how to choose good shoes. The three specialists will also hear about the ” Fun + Walk Project (sneaker commuting),” which has been encouraged since spring 2018.

Mr. Yukihiro Sugawara, Editor in Chief of LAST

Mr. Sugawara has been the editor-in-chief of the men’s shoe magazine ” LAST ” since its launch in 2003. He is well known as a person who covers shoemaking and shoe culture not only in Japan but also in the U.K. and Europe, and has a thorough knowledge of the men’s shoe industry in general. He is also active as a freelance editor in a wide range of fields from men’s fashion to culture.

Mr. Takahiro Iino, fashion journalist

After graduating from university, he worked for a major steel manufacturer before becoming an independent clothing journalist in 2002. He writes about watches, shoes, suits, coats, umbrellas, bags, and other men’s apparel in general, and discusses them from the perspective of his experience as a businessman, while also incorporating historical background. His book “Men’s Shoes: From the First Step to the Finest” (Asahi Shimbun Publications), published in 2010, is a long-selling men’s shoe-related book that continues to be reprinted today. At the end of last year, 2016, he also published a book on suits, ” Menswear Tastes: Choosing a Suit that Fits Your Body and Mind ” (Asahi Shinbun Publishing), which has also been well received.
