The adidas Originals and Pharrell Williams collaborative collection marks its fourth year in 2018 since its initial launch. The collection’s name, “Hu,” stands for “Human,” and is based on the theme of believing in the power of humanity. Pharrell Williams, a multi-talented producer and performer, features in the items the sensibilities he has gained from what he sees while traveling around the world. The collection features apparel and shoes inspired by the pure white uniforms worn since time immemorial during the Hindu Holi festival in Northern India and Nepal to celebrate the arrival of spring as a symbol of peace and equality.

Knit track tops remixed by Pharrell Williams

This collection is characterized by its pure white color, as if it is waiting to be dyed with vivid colored powder and paint at the “Holi Festival”, also known as the “Color Festival”. For apparel, the “HU HOLI KNIT TRACK TOP” is a patchwork of unique materials. The track jacket features the phrase “HU MAN BEING” on the chest, and the archival classic design features Pharrell’s originality.

All-white footwear symbolizing peace and equality

A total of three models are available from the footwear category: the “PW HU HOLI NMD BC,” “PW HU HOLI Tennis Hu BC,” and “PW HU HOLI Stan Smith BC.” The “PW HU HOLI NMD BC” takes the iconic model and gives it an all-white color scheme, with BOOST in the midsole. The midsole is made of BOOST and is equipped with stabilizer detailing.

The ” PW HU HOLI Tennis Hu BC” is a simple, everyday shoe that goes with a variety of styles. The classic tennis shoe silhouette is finished with a sock-like comfortable knit upper. The embroidered three stripes and the Pharrell logo are also outstanding details.
