The metallic black, blue and silver dial is engraved with the collection’s signature starry sky The three large chronograph counters are slightly overlapping, and feature the chronograph’s seconds and minutes counters and small seconds. The date display, color-matched to the dial, is placed at the 4:30 position, another El Primero signature, and the flange ring, engraved with a 1/10th of a second scale, has 12 facets linking it to the dodecagonal bezel and serving as an extension of the hour markers.

Like the self-winding and skeletonized versions of the Defy Skyline, Zenith has pursued accuracy to the tenth of a second and equipped the Defy Skyline Chronograph with a chronograph function that measures 1/10th of a second. The see-through back of the watch allows the wearer to watch the high 5 Hz ( 36,000 vibrations per hour ) of the El Primero 3600 caliber that led to this feat. The star-shaped open rotor features a bidirectional winding mechanism and a power reserve of approximately 60 hours.

Quick strap change mechanismEasy strap change at the touch of a button

One of the features of the “Defy Skyline” is the quick strap change mechanism built into the case. This allows the wearer to easily change the strap without the use of tools. At the push of a button, the three-strand steel bracelet can be replaced with a rubber strap with an attached steel folding buckle with a starry sky on it.
