ATMOS will open a pop-up store “AIR MAX 1 “MAXXED OUT”” on March 4 (Sat) at the ATMOS Sendagaya store to celebrate the birthday of the NIKE AIR MAX. The store will feature a display of currently available Air Max models and novelties, as well as an archive of classic models released in the past.

The legendary “Air Max 1” sneaker was created as a running shoe by sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield on March 26, 1987. It was the first model in the Air Max series that transcended the boundaries of the sneaker scene and led the sneaker movement as a top runner, and still has an overwhelming presence today. To commemorate the Air Max 1’s birthday, Atmos, a sneaker store in Harajuku, Tokyo, has launched a special website titled ” HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO AIR MAX 1. The site will unravel the history of the Air Max 1, and will also feature an original ATMOS shootout focusing on five models to be released before and after the ” AIR MAX DAY “. The pop-up store for the real event is a revival of the sneakerheads’ room from the 1980s, when the Air Max 1 was born.
In the space decorated with the fixtures of the Air Max specification produced only for this time, Air Max will be exhibited and sold. In addition, various contents such as the distribution of novelties that can only be obtained here, apparel customization by invited collaborators, etc. are scheduled to be developed.
