Handmade art piece chairs are recycled items made from prototype Tatras down clothing
The limited edition art piece chair is a sustainable item that was created by KOTA KAWAI from a sample of TATRAS’ down wear produced at the planning stage. Apparel items go through a process of making samples many times before the actual product is completed, but these samples are only prototypes and are no longer used. This collaboration was born out of the desire of both parties to create new value using these lost clothing and fabrics, and to keep them in circulation.

The theme of this collaborative collection is ” people turned into chairs.” The items, made with downware designs, may be more in the nature of artwork than practical chairs. The content of the collection includes a wide variety of items, from two-seater sofas to couch-type sofas, single-seater armchairs, and cushion-type items. These items will be on display and for sale at TATRAS CONCEPT STORE Aoyama from December 4 (Sat). For details, see the end of this article.
