How to fold T-shirts (2) Folding sleeves is important for long T-shirts. What tips are necessary to avoid making them thicker?
(1) Here is a variant of the folding method introduced in (1). Unlike short-sleeved T-shirts, long-sleeved T-shirts require a trick to keep the sleeves from becoming bulky; this folding method can be used not only for T-shirts, but also for sweatshirts and knit sweaters. Check out the video mentioned in (1) for an explanation!
Fold the T-shirt vertically with the collar as the standard.
Follow the same procedure as for short sleeves, folding vertically with the T-shirt based on the collar.
While imagining the width of the finished product, lay the sleeves on top of each other.
Imagine the width of the finished T-shirt and overlap the sleeves to match the width of the T-shirt.
Be careful when folding a long T-shirt! Fold the sleeves differently on the left and right sides.
This is the part to keep in mind when folding the opposite sleeve. Folding at the same angle will cause the sleeves to concentrate on a single point, resulting in a thicker sleeve. Therefore, when folding the other sleeve, fold it at an angle to create a smart fold.
Finally, fold in half and you’re done!
After folding the sleeves, fold the sleeves so that the top and bottom halves are in half at the end.
Finished!
