In Japan, G-Shock’s popularity grew after Keanu Reeves wore the “DW-5600C-1V” model in the 1994 movie “Speed,” which triggered an explosive boom in the market. It is also famous among fans to call this model the “Speed Model” because of the title of the movie. The model has since been used in action movies and dramas such as “Mission Impossible” and “24: Twenty-Four,” and has established an absolute position as a tough man’s sidekick.
