Ralph Lauren’s history over half a century
The brand’s history began in 1967. Designer Ralph Lauren began his journey with a necktie store established under his own name. The following year, the brand introduced a full men’s collection, and has continued to expand into total fashion since then. The company continues to grow steadily, opening boutiques in famous department stores and developing “Polo Stores” on the street.

In 1971, the brand’s iconic “Polo pony” logo was introduced. Surprisingly, it was first introduced as a cuff for the women’s shirt line. Soon after, Polo shirts were released in rainbow colors using the highest quality materials and became an icon of American style.
