Japan’s oldest leather shoe brand ” Otsuka Shoes” has supported the feet of the Imperial Family
The Imperial Household warrant brand (officially the Imperial Household Agency warrant brand, but this system has now been abolished) has been providing items worn by the Japanese Imperial Family. The manufacturer of the leather shoes that support the feet is ” Otsuka Shoes,” the oldest company in Japan. Otsuka Seika is a Japanese leather shoe brand founded in 1872 (Meiji 5), and is truly a representative of Japan, having established a new culture of Western shoes in Japan and pursuing shoes that fit Japanese people’s feet. This history shows that the brand has a prestigious status suitable for the Imperial Family to wear. The brand has a solid track record overseas, having won silver medals at World Expositions in London (1884) and Paris (1889), and gold medals at the Chicago World’s Fair (1893). It would not be an exaggeration to say that the 150-year history of this brand is the history of dress shoes in Japan itself.
