What is 'NYLON METAL-TC'?A fabric synonymous with Stone Island that expresses a metallic feel without the use of metal
NYLON METAL-TC is one of Stone Island’s signature fabrics, the result of years of research and development. first introduced in the Spring/Summer 2005 collection, the fabric is composed of black and white nylon yarns with a trilobed cross-sectional structure that subtly refracts light. The weave of the black weft and white warp yarns creates a unique reaction during dyeing, with only the white yarns absorbing the dye. By utilizing this characteristic, a unique metallic luster is achieved without using metallic threads.
TC” is an acronym for “Tinto Capo” in Italian, meaning “garment dyeing,” which is Stone Island’s specialty. The entire garment is dyed after the garment is completed, using a method and color recipe developed in-house, to bring out the iridescent brilliance of the material, while at the same time bringing depth of color and nuance to the garment.

The color palette ranges from vibrant tones such as malachite green and moss green to muted tones such as mud and soft gray.
