Latest items from H&M's sustainable " Edition by " collection combine design and functionality

The third edition of H&M’s “Edition by” collection, which incorporates sustainable elements, is now available at limited-edition H&M Shibuya and Umeda stores and the official H&M online store starting March 10 (Thu.).

Beautiful earth colors with cutting-edge vegetable dyes and practical design with a gopher-core feel

The H&M men’s Edition by collection is aimed at men with a genuine style. This season’s collection incorporates elements of workwear, gopecore, and streetwear, offering practical items that combine design and functionality. Of note is the color palette, which uses innovative vegetable dyes such as plant extracts, natural clays, and bioresins. Pioneering technology has made it possible to achieve beautiful organic colors without the use of harsh chemicals. The materials used are mono-materials that can be easily recycled when the garments are no longer needed.

The highlight item in this collection is a windbreaker made of 100% recycled nylon. It is made of ECONYL®, a recycled nylon derived from fishing nets and carpets, and features a bright orange color. It is finished with large cargo pockets and a sophisticated, city-fit design.

Jackets, jeans, and boiler suits from the denim collection are made of a combination of organic and recycled cotton. The oversized jackets are a modern update of traditional workwear, with light indigo-dyed shades and naturally plated silver buttons. Overshirts and sweatshirts also feature loose silhouettes, also made from sustainable materials and natural vegetable dyes.

The “Edition collection is a starting point for us to challenge and innovate in our sustainability efforts,” said the designer. One of the key elements of this season was to incorporate natural materials and plant-based dyeing techniques. We then combined classic menswear, outdoor, and utility elements into a modern look that we proudly deliver.” said Ross Lydon, Head of Menswear Design, H&M.

The campaign for this collection was created by photographer Matt Jones. With the theme of ” individuality and personal expression, ” he photographed people on the streets of the vibrant city of New Orleans.
