Bulgari has launched its new sustainable men’s leather goods collection. The campaign visual features the brand’s ambassador and artist Tomohisa Yamashita.

Tomohisa Yamashita wears Bulgari’s sustainable leather collection, a renewal of the timeless line
Bulgari’s new collection combines high quality and iconic design while taking environmental impact into consideration. The new men’s leather goods collection, which includes 13 items ranging from classic items such as tote bags and messenger bags to temporary camera bags and backpacks, was unveiled with a campaign visual featuring Tomohisa Yamashita.
The bags are made of a bi-material that is a mix of eco-friendly metal-free grain calf leather and smooth calf leather. This material was sourced from a ” Leather Working Group ” certified leather factory, which means that the manufacturing process has undergone a process that emphasizes elements that lead to environmental performance.
The outside of the bag is made of black, Ivy Onyx, and Olympian Sapphire colors, and the inside is made of ECONYL®, a recycled nylon in Olympian Sapphire color that matches the outside color.
Sewing threads, zipper tapes, and straps are made of 100% recycled polyester from a sustainable perspective. All items are embroidered with the Bulgari logo, derived from the capital letters of ancient Rome.
Naturally, the packaging also minimizes the use of plastic, and the boxes are made from materials sourced from managed forests. Each item is lined with 100% bamboo fiber protection and shipped with a 100% organic cotton bag.
Tomohisa Yamashita Comment
The concept for this shoot was ‘Tomohisa Yamashita’s style as an extension of his everyday life,’ so I was able to relax and enjoy the shoot. In fact, some of the backpacks looked like the ones I use on a daily basis, which gave me a sense of déjà vu, or rather, I was already getting attached to them during the shoot (laughs). I often prefer simple monotone for my personal wear, but the vivid new colors that are typical of Italy seem to go well with my monotone style. I also sympathize with the concept of sustainability in the product development. I have heard the saying, ‘ Good shoes take you to a good place,’ and I think the same can be said for good bags. I sometimes think about which city I am going to travel to next, carrying only one bag. I hope that a Bulgari bag will take you to the place where your dreams come true in ‘the journey called life.
