Three types of classic rider's jackets

Rider’s jackets can be divided into three types: double American-style, double British-style, and single. Although they all have different origins, they can be considered as the attainment of leather wear that combines functionality and aesthetics.

Four types of standard leather flight jackets

Various types of flight jackets have been created in the process of pursuing practicality as military equipment. Four of the most iconic types are the A-1, A-2, G-1, and B-3. All of them evolved in response to the demands of the times and the mission environment, and were later reinterpreted as fashionable, laying the foundation for today’s leather flight.

A-1 Flight Jacket
The first leather flight jacket was officially adopted by the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1927. It has a button-fastening front, sheepskin or goatskin construction, and knit ribbing at the cuffs and hem. It was the prototype for all later flight jackets.

A-2 Flight Jacket
Introduced in 1931. It introduced zippers on the front, shoulder patches and flap pockets. After World War II, it was released to the general market and became established as street wear.

B-3 Flight Jacket
Created in 1934 as a jacket for high-altitude missions by the US Army Air Corps. It is heavily armored with thick sheepskin and mouton lining and large collar straps.

G-1 Flight Jacket
This leather jacket with mouton collar was developed for the U.S. Naval Air Corps in the early 1940s. Made of goatskin to protect against salt damage at sea, it was both durable and warm, and was made famous in the 1986 film ‘ Top Gun’ and became a symbol of naval-style flight.
