The Nike Pearl's popular "Air Max 97" boasts three features and models currently available for purchase.

The “Air Max 97,” a futuristic design masterpiece dubbed the “Cyber Max.”

The Air Max 97, released in 1997, was the first pair ever to feature full-length Visible Air, in addition to an upper with wave-like line reflective material. The first Air Max had a small window in the heel, but the Air Max 95 had a window in the forefoot, and the Air Max 97 finally had a window around the entire circumference of the heel. Incidentally, the Air Max 95 was code-named “Air Total Max,” the Air Max 96 “Air Total Max 2,” and the Air Max 97 “Air Total Max 3. Air Max 97 was code-named “Air Total Max 3”.

The designer, Christian Tresser, was with Nike for only a short period of time, from 1996 to 1997, and is now a freelance shoe designer. In just 10 months, he designed the Air Max 97, a shoe that will live on for generations to come. Its futuristic silhouette is familiar to fans as the “Cybermax. The wave-like shape of the upper, full of originality, is reminiscent of drops of water falling into a pond. The original model’s metallic silver color, also known as “Silver Bullet,” was inspired by Japanese bullet trains and mountain bikes.

The Air Max 97, with its innovative upper design in addition to the evolved Visible Air, solidified Nike’s position in the high-tech sneaker field. More than 20 years after its release, special models such as the Air Vapormax 97, as well as reissued versions of the original model, still boast strong popularity.
