Air Maxim1 “Air Maxim1” with greatly improved durability and cushioning

The Air Max 1 has been released in 2009 with a major transformation, inspired by popular Nike models such as the Lunar R acer and the Zoom Victory Truck Spike. In addition to Acespan mesh, the upper features Flywire, a mesh of high-density reinforced nylon that is five times stronger and more flexible than steel. In addition, the adoption of a Phylon midsole with a three-piece injection-molded structure further reduces the weight of the cushioning. While keeping the base design of the original model, the Air Max 1 reflects innovative technology.

Air Max 1 equipped with a lightweight and resilient sole unit! Air Max Lunar1

The Air Max Lunar 1 was created in 2014 and features Nike’s LUNARLON FORM technology. Lunarlon was developed by Nike designers Kevin Hofer and Eric Aver in 2008. A lightweight foam core with excellent softness and resilience is placed at the center of the sole unit to disperse impact over a wide area. The foam core is held in place by a stronger foam carrier on the outsole side, providing stability and excellent cushioning.

The Lunarlon foam was inspired by astronauts bouncing in the weightless conditions of the moon’s surface, hence the name “Lunar,” which means “moon. This lightweight, flexible, and highly resilient foam is combined with the visible air of the Air Max 1. While pushing cushioning to unprecedented levels, the innovative design combined with a seamless upper further reduces weight and improves breathability.
