Loewe unveils FW23 men's campaign featuring Gen Yonezu! Limited time pop-up event will also be held

Musician and artist Yonezu Genshi, who has had a diverse career, appeared in LOEWE’s FW23 men’s campaign. Yonezu, wearing Loewe’s latest look, was photographed by French photographer Arnaud Lajni. In addition, a pop-up event of the FW23 men’s collection will be held at Casa Loewe Tokyo and Loewe Omotesando from August 16 (Wed) to 23 (Wed).

Loewe and Yonezu Genji collaborate! The campaign, which takes us inside his creative space, includes manga, novels, poetry, and anime works!

Loewe’s FW23 men’s campaign, shot by photographer Arnaud Lajni, features manga, novels, poetry, and anime works that have greatly influenced Yonezu’s sensibility. It was a rare opportunity to infiltrate his creative space. In the campaign, Mr. Yonezu spreads his metal angel wings from a studded shirt, and wears a twisted coat made of soft lambskin and lace-up derby shoes with a pronounced round toe. All of these items showcase Loewe’s iconic details.

She also wore a pair of Pixel jeans and a denim jacket to bed, and a lambskin workwear jacket in front of the piano. The cut is also striking in a vivid green draped cardigan that seems to float above the tatami mats.

Creative Director Jonathan Anderson said, “It is an honor to collaborate with one of Asia’s most influential music artists, Genji Yonezu. In my collections I often explore the male sensibility, and I feel that the ambiguous and introspective energy of Yonezu’s music resonates with Loewe’s menswear. The timing is also perfect, as this year marks the 50th anniversary of Loewe’s expansion in Japan. We look forward to continuing this meaningful cultural dialogue in the future.

In addition, a pop-up event of the latest men’s collection will be held at two directly-managed stores in Tokyo, Casa Loewe Tokyo and Loewe Omotesando. The “Angel’s Wings” look, which Mr. Yonezu wears, as well as art-like showpieces presented on the runway, will be imported from Paris and exhibited. In addition, a nationwide outdoor advertising campaign will run from August 7 (Mon.), and a special edition of “HIGHSNOBIETY JAPAN” will be published on September 1 (Fri.), featuring a 16-page interview with Yonezu.
