On July 3, 2019, Onitsuka Tiger celebrated the brand’s 70th anniversary by announcing a special collaboration with seven designers who are highly popular both in Japan and abroad. This fifth collaboration is with Kathleen Hanhee Kye, creator of the globally popular Korean brand ” KYE “. Since launching her collection in London in 2011, Hanhee Kye has been highly popular and has been selected as a semi-finalist for the LVMH Prize, which is a gateway to success for young designers, and is an up-and-coming designer with a proven record of achievement. This collaboration includes sneakers, a track jacket, and pants that incorporate the innovative designs that Kathleen Hanhee Kye is known for.

The collaborative sneakers feature bold, contrasting bi-color uppers!

The base model is Onitsuka Tiger’s classic “GSM™️,” inspired by vintage tennis shoes and named after the initials of the words “Game, Set, Match. The sneakers feature a bold bi-color design of black and white to evoke night and day, a zipper on the instep that links to the wearer’s clothing, and white stitching on a black background.
