YANUK and Yutaka Fujihara, director of the long-established vintage store BerBerJin in Harajuku, have announced a collaboration denim!

YANUK, a Los Angeles-based denim brand born in 2003, and Yutaka Fujiwara, director of BerBerJin, a long-established vintage store in Harajuku, have collaborated to create a new line of jeans. Yanook announced in August that Mr. Fujiwara had been appointed as an advisor for denim projects, and the new model was completed with the aim of creating a personalized “valuable denim” that combines functionality and history required in the modern age from the 2019 Spring/Summer collection.

The men’s lineup includes three brushed-up versions of Mr. Fujihara’s most beloved vintage jeans from 1946

The men’s jeans, which will be available for pre-order in limited quantities from December 7 (Fri.), are three models featuring Mr. Fujiwara’s favorite era, 1946. The jeans manufactured in 1946, the transitional period between 1945 when details were simplified due to the end of World War II and 1947 when the prototype of jeans is said to have been completed, are a gem that has characteristics of both before and after the war. The jeans born this time strongly reflect such characteristics of 1946, and at the same time, they are comfortable to wear by adopting stretch and waistband elongation specifications. These new jeans have a slim and stylish silhouette that is hard to find in second-hand clothing. The three models available for pre-order on the official online site are all limited to 20 pairs each, so if you are interested, check them out as soon as possible! Incidentally, two models for ladies will be available in a limited edition of 50 each.
